Hospital Wayfinder is a public directions tool. It is deliberately built to know as little about you as possible.
You do not need an account
Visitors never sign in, never give a name, and never give an email address. There is nothing to register.
The app does not use GPS
Your position is only known when you choose to scan a QR code on a wall, or pick a starting point from a list. The app never asks for your device location and cannot follow you around the building.
The camera is only used to read a QR code
If you use the scan feature, the camera picture is processed on your own phone to read the code. No photo or video is stored, uploaded, or sent anywhere.
No journey history
Routes are worked out on your device as you use the app. Where you went, and where you asked to go, is not recorded against you.
Staff accounts
The setup panel used by hospital staff is protected by a sign-in. Those accounts store only a name, an email address and a permission level, so the hospital knows who is allowed to edit the map.
