Accessibility statement

Power House Coding aims to make Hospital Wayfinder accessible to patients, visitors and staff, working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Full compliance has not been established or independently verified.

Accessibility features

The app includes a keyboard-accessible skip link, destination search with keyboard navigation, route options with announced selection states, written directions and optional voice guidance with repeat, pause and speed controls. A manual location selection is available as an alternative to camera scanning. Step-free and avoid-stairs options use the venue’s recorded route information.

Checks not independently verified

This statement follows a lightweight review and focused checks, not a formal accessibility audit. A complete WCAG 2.2 AA assessment of all visitor and administration screens has not been independently completed. Screen-reader compatibility across devices and browsers, complete keyboard and focus behaviour, contrast in every state, zoom and text reflow, touch targets and voice-assisted navigation with disabled users remain to be independently verified.

Limitations

Voice availability and behaviour depend on your device and browser; written directions remain available. Floor-plan diagrams have not been independently assessed for equivalent non-visual access, although step-by-step text directions are provided. A step-free route depends on accurate venue data and current lift and corridor availability; each hospital’s routes need on-site verification. If directions are unclear or an accessible route is unavailable, ask hospital staff for assistance.
